It is widely recognised that the hauora of students is enhanced by sport and recreation regardless of age, gender, ability, ethnicity, or financial circumstance. Our aim is for all students to be given an equal opportunity to experience, appreciate and enjoy the value and satisfaction of participation in sport and recreation.

Regular Competition 

KC offers an extensive range of sports summer, winter and year round for competitive, social and beginners. These opportunities take place during school through Wananga and exchanges, after school and in the weekends. Participation includes a fee to cover competition entry costs. 

House Sports

Students are divided into 4 Houses:

 Aorangi - Yellow     Ruamahanga - Blue     Tararua - Red     Wairarapa - Green

Students earn points for competing in competitions throughout the year including:

  • Athletics
  • Swimming
  • Cross Country
  • Other tournaments arranged by the Sports leaders throughout the year.

Lunchtime Activities

​​​​​​​Are arranged by the Sports Leaders throughout the year, they are advertised through school notices and on the Sports Noticeboard and include sport and recreation both competitive and social.
