Enrolment Zone

Our college is thriving and students are achieving excellent outcomes with our unique curriculum. Because of this success and our focus on individual students, our school roll has grown considerably.  At the end of 2019 we had 441 students. In 2022 we had 760 students and in 2023 we have over 800.

After consultation with the Board of Trustees, the Ministry of Education has developed an enrolment scheme for Kuranui College under section 72 of the Education and Training Act 2020.

The enrolment scheme came into effect from the 1st January 2022. This means that students outside the zone that are not already attending Kuranui College will not have automatic right to enrol.

All students who are already enrolled at Kuranui College before the enrolment scheme commences are entitled to stay at Kuranui College. Siblings of current students will also have priority access to any out-of-zone places offered by the school.

The enrolment zone covers the administrative boundaries of the South Wairarapa and Carterton District Councils.  This includes the townships of Featherston, Martinborough, Greytown and Carterton and the surrounding rural areas.

The Northern boundary runs along the Waingawa River.  The Southern and Eastern boundaries are the coastline and the Western boundary runs along the ranges.  To view a map of the enrolment zone click here

Any questions regarding individual student eligibility can be addressed to the college.

We look forward to continuing to work with our students and whanau to nurture, inspire and prepare our students to take their place in the world.
