Enrolment 2023

Enrolments are now open for all year levels for 2023.

We will be sending out information to all in zone families over the next couple of months and we tend to communicate directly with families. Our Open Day will be Thursday 9th June. Buses are put on from each local primary school to bring students to the Open day. We provide lunch for students on this day as well.

Our Open Evening for all whānau and families will be on Wednesday 15 June at 7pm in the school auditorium. The open evening is a chance for Year 8 students and families to come and view our classrooms, facilities and curriculum and be taken on guided tours by our students. There is no need to register for this open evening.

We are currently working our way through the process for our Out of Zone enrolments and will be in touch with families should we have spaces available. For any further questions about enrolment into Year 9 please contact our Deputy Principal William Donaldson donaldsonw@kuranui-college.school.nz

You will see the enrolment link below as well as a link to our school prospectus. Please feel free to complete the application for enrolment now and send to the school office as places are limited.

Enrolment Zone

Our college is thriving and students are achieving excellent outcomes with our unique curriculum. Because of this success and our focus on individual students, our school roll has grown considerably.  At the end of 2019 we had 441 students. In 2022 we have 760 students and in 2023 we are predicted 850-900 students.

After consultation with the Board of Trustees, the Ministry of Education has developed an enrolment scheme for Kuranui College under section 72 of the Education and Training Act 2020.

The enrolment scheme came into effect from the 1st January 2022. This means that students outside the zone that are not already attending Kuranui College will not have automatic right to enrol.

All students who are already enrolled at Kuranui College before the enrolment scheme commences are entitled to stay at Kuranui College. Siblings of current students will also have priority access to any out-of-zone places offered by the school.

The enrolment zone covers the administrative boundaries of the South Wairarapa and Carterton District Councils.  This includes the townships of Featherston, Martinborough, Greytown and Carterton and the surrounding rural areas.

The Northern boundary runs along the Waingawa River.  The Southern and Eastern boundaries are the coastline and the Western boundary runs along the ranges.  To view a map of the enrolment zone click here

Any questions regarding individual student eligibility can be addressed to the college.

We look forward to continuing to work with our students and whanau to nurture, inspire and prepare our students to take their place in the world.
