On the 9th-10th August we took 7 plays to the regional Theatrefest One Act Play competition and came away with a slew of awards! Our plays were:

"The Office Inspection" by Harriett de Jonge

"Five Nights at New World" by Angela-Marie Bell

"Ramraid Racists" by Aaliyah Crawford

"Monster Under the Bed" by Isaac Burt, co-directed by Lilly Henderson

"Almost Re-written" by Reese Matthews

"A bit of a Yarn" by Juanita McLellan

And the winners are:

Magic Moment awards for:

Emanuel Raikabula and Aaliyah Crawford for their driving scene

Jordy Newell for the monsters movements

Lucy Monastra and Holley Jacobson for their death scene

Excellence in Acting: Ella Coburn and Sarah-Cate Hodgson

Distinction in writing: Aaliyah Crawford

Outstanding presentation of a comedy: A bit of a yarn

Next up, we are taking 2 plays to the North Island Champs - "A bit of a Yarn" and "Ramraid Racists".
