Year 13 Kuranui Student Isaac Burt was selected as one of only 10 cadets to travel to Hong Kong and represent New Zealand at the Asia Pacific Youth First Aid Competition.

Isaac was in Hong Kong from the 24th July to the 2nd August and competed on the 28th July to come away with a hugely successful win. Team New Zealand won 3rd place in the First Aid Competition and 2nd place overall by a margin of only .25 points. His team competed alongside Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and Hong Kong.

The cadets were put through high stress scenarios consisting of both team and pair tests. This consisted of life threatening situations, ambulance handovers and managing a scene.

A highlight of his time was not only their success but spending time with cadets from the other countries. Well done Isaac!
